I am Cow

This journey begins in 2020: It’s Lockdown, and we’re on the remote Malcolm Island in the Pacific Northwest. The townsfolk are excited about a new art installation project. This is the true story of an orange plywood cow that captured the hearts, minds, and sanity of a community… This tale involves espionage, hijinks, betrayal, and renewal. To make sense of the pandemonium the artist journeys from the top of Vancouver Island, to the Capital, to one of the highest institutions of art - The Vancouver Art Gallery - to remix the original art piece and set an experiment in motion…. This film is a glimpse into a quest to understand the chaos of collaborative projects, and the power of art to transform stories and reinvent ourselves. This film is part experiment, part satire, part ethical inquiry. Please enjoy the ride.
